BOSTON, June 29, 2021 – Breckinridge Capital Advisors, an independently owned asset management firm specializing in investment grade fixed income portfolios, announced today that Ognjen (“Oggie”) Sosa has been named Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”). He will be responsible for managing the firm’s investment process, overseeing the development of the investment strategy and ensuring the strategy’s implementation across trading, research and portfolio management. As CIO, Sosa will also chair the firm’s investment committee.

Sosa has more than 15 years of asset management experience spanning across investment research, portfolio management and team leadership of investment professionals and businesses. Most recently, Sosa served as Retirement Income Investment Lead at Fidelity Investments, where he led the development of cohesive investment frameworks and investment solutions designed to meet the needs of mass-affluent customers nearing or living in retirement.

Having joined Fidelity Investments in 2007, Sosa held various roles at the firm prior to becoming Retirement Income Investment Lead in 2020. He spent six years as a Team Leader for Fidelity’s Global Institutional Solutions, where he led the company’s outsourced chief investment officer business, overseeing $22 billion in client AUM invested across proprietary and third-party equity, fixed income and alternative strategies. His prior roles include serving as a Portfolio Manager on the Global Institutional Solutions team and a Quantitative Research Analyst for the company’s Institutional Asset Management business. Sosa started his investment career at State Street Global Markets as a Quantitative Equity Analyst.

Sosa, who will be based in Breckinridge’s Boston headquarters, completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in mechanical engineering and received his MBA degree, all from the University of Florida. He is currently pursuing a part-time master’s degree of information in data science and machine learning from University of California, Berkeley.
